MG GT Official Launch Is Almost A Year Away in Pakistan

We are here with the first look review of MG GT, earlier known as MG 5. It is pertinent to mention that MG Pakistan has only imported a test unit of this sedan; hence, it would not be launched in the near future. MG Pakistan plans to launch this car in a competition of Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla and Hyundai Elantra. This would be the first sedan by MG Pakistan.

Exterior of MG GT

The front look of the car is very aggressive and sporty as its front grille has dark grey and piano black color with MG badging and front camera. The lip is made with carbon fibre. The overall front look is similar to Maserati Quattroporte. The car has very smart and chic LED headlights with DRLs.

On the side profile, the first thing you notice is its 16-inch Alloy Wheels. As per the company, the base variant will have Steel Wheels. Overall side profile of this car is quite similar to Honda Civic 10th Generation, and one important aspect is that this car is lengthier than the Civic.

The rear end is more beautiful than its front, and it is very similar to Mercedes C-Class W 205, including Lava LED backlights, diffuser bumper and bumper reflector. You can also see parking sensors and a rear camera at the rear. Furthermore, the car has ample trunk space.

Interior

As this is a test unit hence, it is a left-handed car, and the first thing you notice is that its interior is much more superior to the exterior. The speedometer is totally LED, which gives you all essential information, including tyre pressure, fuel average and trip details. Then comes the LED touchscreen infotainment unit in the centre of the dashboard, which can also be controlled from the buttons under the screen. There is also the option of a 360 camera, controlled through the touchscreen.

The dashboard has a steel SS type finish with a hexagon design, giving it a very modern look. The steering design is same as MG HS. The seats, central console and doors have black leather with red stitching, giving the car a very sporty look, while seats are very comfortable. The rear seats are also very comfortable, with ample leg space. However, rear seats don’t have an armrest.

As this is the mid variant, it has manual seat adjustments, and as per the company, the top of the line variant will have electric adjustments. This unit doesn’t have options like lane assist, lane depart, paddle shifters, and auto braking, but it is expected that its top variant will have these options.

First Impression of MG GT

Our first impression about the car is very positive, but it is yet to be seen which specs and features will MG Pakistan offer in this car.

Important Announcement

MG Pakistan has not opened booking of this car, so be aware of any such people who will offer to book this car. There is no price announcement as yet. And if we talk about its launch, we think the official launch of MG GT is almost a year away, so be patient and wait for the car. Furthermore, MG Pakistan wants your opinion about specs and features you want in this car and what price will you pay for this car, accordingly. In simple words, the company wants to know which kind of MG GT you want to drive?
