Breaking News: Govt to Launch Petrol Discount App for Bikers and Rickshaws Amid Middle East War:

Brief Description

As the Middle East conflict (US-Israel-Iran war) pushes global oil prices toward $115/barrel, the Government of Pakistan has finalized a digital lifeline for low-income citizens. This blog post provides an exclusive, step-by-step guide to the targeted fuel subsidy app designed for motorcycles and rickshaws. Learn how the government is using a Rs. 125 billion relief package to freeze domestic prices at Rs. 321.17 and how you can claim your monthly quota of 20–30 liters through the new QR-code system.

🛠️ Step-by-Step Registration Guide

Step 1: Check Your Eligibility

The scheme is strictly for the "low-income strata."

  1. Eligible Vehicles: All motorcycles and rickshaws. (The cabinet is currently deciding on whether to include cars under 800cc).

  2. Requirement: The vehicle must be registered in the name of the applicant.

Step 2: Download the Official App

The Ministry of IT has developed two separate apps:

  1. Consumer App: For citizens to manage their quota.

  2. Retailer App: Pre-installed on devices at 12,000 designated petrol pumps.

Note: Only download the app from official government links (e.g., gov.pk) to avoid scams.

Step 3: Digital Registration (Link CNIC & Vehicle)

Open the app and enter:

  1. Your CNIC Number.

  2. Your Mobile Number (must be registered on the same CNIC).

  3. Your Vehicle Registration Number (Engine/Chassis number may be required).

The system will automatically verify your data with NADRA and the Excise Department.

Step 4: Check Your Monthly Quota

Once verified, the app will display your allocated monthly limit (expected to be 20 or 30 liters).

  1. Real-time Tracking: The app shows how many liters you have left for the month.

Step 5: Generate Your Digital Voucher

Before visiting the gas station:

  1. Tap "Generate Voucher" in the app.

  2. A unique QR Code or Digital PIN will appear on your screen.

Step 6: Visit a "Designated Nozzle" Pump

Not every pump nozzle will provide the discount.

  1. Look for the "Subsidized Fuel" signage at PSO, Shell, or Total stations.

  2. Show your QR Code to the station operator.

  3. The operator will scan it using a government-provided mobile device to validate your remaining quota.
