1. Slim Design With a Massive 8,000mAh Battery
One of the most interesting features of the TECNO POVA Curve 2 5G is its slim construction. Despite having an 8,000mAh battery, the phone measures approximately 7.42mm thick and weighs around 195 grams.
This combination makes it appealing to people who want long battery life without carrying a bulky smartphone.
The phone features a futuristic design inspired by spacecraft, with flowing lines and a distinctive rear camera arrangement. Its curved display and narrow bezels also contribute to a premium appearance.
Available Colours
TECNO offers the POVA Curve 2 5G in three colours:
Melting Silver
Mystic Purple
Storm Titanium
Colour availability may differ between retailers.
2. Curved 144Hz AMOLED Display
The TECNO POVA Curve 2 5G features a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display designed for entertainment, gaming, and everyday smartphone use.
Its 144Hz refresh rate allows smoother scrolling, animations, and supported games compared with conventional 60Hz screens.
The display offers a resolution of 2364 × 1080 pixels and a claimed peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits under specified conditions. High brightness can improve outdoor visibility, although actual performance depends on lighting conditions and the area of the screen being illuminated.
Other display highlights include:
Curved AMOLED panel
144Hz refresh rate
Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection
Up to 4,500 nits peak brightness
High touch-sampling capability for gaming
For people who frequently watch videos, browse social media, or play mobile games, this display is one of the phone's key attractions.
3. MediaTek Dimensity 7100 5G Processor
Performance is another important part of the POVA Curve 2 5G package. The smartphone uses the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 5G chipset, an octa-core processor designed for daily applications, multitasking, and entertainment.
The chipset is paired with an Arm Mali-G610 MC2 graphics processor.
Users can expect the phone to handle common activities such as messaging, video streaming, browsing, online classes, and social media. Gaming performance will depend on the game, graphics settings, software updates, and temperature.
TECNO also advertises Ice Cooling 3.0 technology to help manage heat during demanding tasks.
Is It Suitable for Gaming?
The combination of a 144Hz display, 5G connectivity, and a gaming-oriented chipset makes the phone worth considering for mobile gaming enthusiasts.
However, a 144Hz screen does not mean every game will run at 144 frames per second. Actual frame rates depend on game support, graphics settings, and device performance.
Players of PUBG Mobile, Free Fire, and Mobile Legends should check the supported frame-rate options for their preferred games before buying.
4. Huge 8,000mAh Battery With 45W Fast Charging
Battery capacity is arguably the strongest selling point of the TECNO POVA Curve 2 5G.
Its 8,000mAh battery is larger than the batteries found in many mainstream smartphones, making it attractive to users who spend long hours away from a power outlet.
The phone supports 45W wired fast charging. TECNO's launch information states that a full charge can take approximately 82 minutes under specified conditions.
Battery life varies according to usage, mobile signal strength, display brightness, gaming, and background applications.
Battery Features
8,000mAh battery capacity
45W wired fast charging
10W reverse charging
Bypass charging support
Battery durability claims backed by manufacturer information
Reverse charging can help power compatible accessories or another device. Bypass charging is particularly useful during supported gaming sessions because it can help reduce battery-related heat while the phone is connected to power.
For frequent travellers, students, delivery riders, and heavy smartphone users, the large battery could be a major advantage.
5. Camera Specifications and AI Features
The TECNO POVA Curve 2 5G includes a 50MP main rear camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 13MP front-facing camera.
The primary camera is designed for everyday photography, including outdoor scenes, portraits, and general social media content. The macro camera provides an additional option for close-up subjects.
Rear and Front Camera Details
| Camera | Specification |
|---|---|
| Main rear camera | 50MP |
| Secondary rear camera | 2MP macro |
| Front camera | 13MP |
TECNO also highlights several AI-powered image-editing and communication features.
AI Eraser 2.0: Helps remove unwanted objects or people from supported photos.
AI Flare Remover: Designed to reduce unwanted glare and haze in images.
Image-to-Live: Adds motion effects to selected still images.
AI Noise Cancellation: Helps reduce unwanted background noise during supported calls.
These tools can make everyday photography more convenient, although the final results depend on the original image and software processing.
Buyers who prioritise photography should also evaluate real-world low-light images, video stabilisation, portrait quality, and camera consistency rather than relying on megapixel counts alone.

6. Software and Smart Features
The TECNO POVA Curve 2 5G runs HiOS 16 based on Android 16.
The software includes customisation options and AI-assisted tools designed to make everyday tasks more convenient. TECNO also promotes its Ella assistant for selected voice-assistant and productivity functions.
Depending on regional software availability, supported features may include text summaries, writing assistance, call-related tools, and photo editing.
Some AI features may require an internet connection, supported languages, account access, or software updates. Check local availability before relying on a particular feature.
7. Connectivity, Durability, and Security
The POVA Curve 2 5G supports multiple mobile network generations, including 5G. Its actual 5G performance in Pakistan will depend on local network availability, compatible frequency bands, SIM services, and operator coverage.
The phone also includes connectivity and convenience features such as Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC, and an under-display fingerprint sensor, subject to regional specifications.
Protection and Build Quality
The smartphone includes:
IP64-rated dust and splash resistance
Corning Gorilla Glass 7i display protection
SGS-certified drop protection from a height of up to 1.5 metres, according to TECNO's product information
IP64 protection does not make a phone waterproof. Avoid submerging the device in water, and remember that resistance can decrease with wear and accidental damage.
